Summer Weekends in Downtown Toledo are a Blast!

Holy Toledo! We've got a jam-packed weekend of fun in store for you in downtown. There are plenty of events the whole family will love. We've compiled a list of some of the biggest events of the weekend below. To see a full listing of all the events happening this weekend, click here.

Wednesday, June 15

Coffee Connections

Join us for coffee and conversation. We invite property owners, business owners, elected officials or individuals who are passionate about downtown Toledo to Coffee Connections at Rustbelt Coffee on Wednesday, June 15 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. Board members of the Downtown Toledo Improvement District (DTID), ConnecToledo Downtown Development Corporation, and staff will be present to chat about downtown activities and the organizations’ projects.

 

Thursday, June 16

Lunch at Levis

Enjoy lunch outside in Levis square during Lunch at Levis. Lunch at Levis is a weekly lunch-time concert series that features live music from local artist, food trucks, games, meet and greets with local non-profits and more! Lunch at Levis is every Thursday from 11:30a-1:30p. This week’s music artist is Andrew Ellis. See full line up here.

Juneteenth Celebration

The students at the Maritime Academy of Toledo are hosting a Juneteenth Celebration for the community this Thursday. The event is free and open to the public and features free boat rides on the Maumee River, free food, face painting, kids’ manicures & haircuts and more! The event is from 4:00-7:00pm. The Maritime Academy is located at 803 Water Street.

In the Heights

See local actors take the stage in The Toledo Repertoire Theatre’s production of “In the Heights” this weekend. The show runs through Sunday. Show times: Th-Sa: 8pm, Sunday: 2:30pm. Tickets can be purchased here.

 

Friday, June 17

Practically a Golf Tournament

Huron Street between Washington and Monroe will be closed this weekend for Practically a Golf Tournament, a mini golf tournament benefitting the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio. Schedule| Friday from 1-4p: closed course for pre-registered players, Friday from 5-11p: open play for adults and children. Saturday from 12-11p: open play for adults and children.

Art Loop | Street Faire

The Art Loop is back! This Art Loop’s theme is Street Faire and is taking place along Huron Street from Market St. to Monroe St. The street will be alive with art, music, and performances from 5:00pm-10:00pm.

Friday night concerts in Promenade Park are back! The kickoff the 2022 season is Academy Award, Emmy, and Grammy-winning artist, Common. Gates open at 5 p.m. with the show starting at 6:15pm. VIP tickets are $50 and General Admission are $20. Purchase here. See this summer's lineup here.

 

Saturday, June 18

Muddy Mini Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon & 5k

Cheer on the runners as they finish their race on the field at Fifth Third Field. 5k participants start and end at Fifth Third Field while the Quarter and half Marathon participants start in Maumee and run along River Road.

Hard Hat Tours: Behind the Scenes of our Museum Vessels

Take a behind the scenes tour of the museum ships at National Museum of the Great Lakes this Saturday. You’ll take a guided tour through areas that are usually off-limits to visitors. Tours are offered throughout the day at 10a, 11, 1p and 2p. Hard hats will be provided. Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Juneteenth Celebration

Join the Toledo Library and the NAACP of Toledo in celebrating Juneteenth with a daylong event at the Main Library. The series of programs will feature local black artists, speakers, workshops, and a job fair. To cap off the celebration there will be a gallery opening and rooftop party in the evening.

Toledo Night Market

Enjoy a summer night in an open-air market – the Toledo Night Market is back! The Night Market features lights, food, shopping, drinks and live music. Admission is $5 while kids 10 and under free. This event is rain or shine and has covered space. ONLY SERVICE DOGS ALLOWED per Health code.

Family Movie Night: Encanto

All ages are welcome to attend the Family Movie Night in Promenade Park. Activities for kids kick off at 6:30 and include sing-alongs, lawn games and demonstration from Imagination Station. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. This week’s movie is “Encanto.” Please be aware there is limited seating and is on a first come, first serve basis.  Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Glow Roll

Decorate your bike and join in on the fun! Bike Rides Matter and Metroparks Toledo have teamed up for a special Glow Roll every third Saturday of the month. Meet up at 8:30pm in Middlegrounds Metropark and a 9:00pm ride. Ride route is from Middlegrounds Metropark to Manhattan Marsh Preserve Metropark.

 

Sunday, June 19

Father’s Day Cookout

Celebrate Dad at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company’s Father’s Day Cookout. The fun starts at noon and goes until 4:00 p.m. The cookout features a grilled buffet, music from Andrew Ellis, corn hole and of course, Maumee Bay Brewing Co. beer. Tickets may be purchased here.

Father’s Day Cruise

J&M Cruise Lines is offering a special Father’s Day Cruise deal: ALL fathers/grandfathers are FREE with the purchase of another ticket on this river cruise. All food and drinks including alcoholic beverages are welcome. Purchase tickets here.
