Solheim Cup is Coming to Toledo in 2021

It’s coming to Toledo! The Solheim Cup is a biennial international match-play competition between Ladies European Tour players and Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour athletes. The Solheim Cup is currently taking place in Pertshire, Scotland at the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles.

The first ever Solheim Cup took place at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Florida. The tournament got its name from Karsten Solheim, the driving force behind its inception and a club manufacturer. The format of the Solheim Cup is the same as The Ryder Cup – 28 matches with eight foursomes and eight fourballs over the first two days and 12 singles on the final day.

The 2021 Solheim Cup will be hosted by Toledo at Inverness Club. Downtown Toledo is starting to get ready for the influx of visitors and festivities. Be on the lookout for exciting changes and improvements!

To kick off the Solheim Cup excitement, the City of Toledo and Destination Toledo will be hosting the 2019 Solheim Cup Watch Party at The Heights on Sunday, September 15 at 10 AM. Take in gorgeous views of downtown while you cheer on Team USA! The event is free and open to the public and features a new menu from The Heights, specialty cocktails and giveaways and raffle prizes!
