Celebrate Mother's Day in Downtown Toledo

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14! If you haven’t finalized your plans yet, downtown has you covered. From brunch to boat rides and gifts from local artists, we’re sure there’s something that's perfect for the mom in your life.

Take mom out for a delicious brunch! Brunch buffets are offered at The Heights (10a-4p, reservations can be made on Open Table or by phone at 419-243-7565), Manhattan’s Pub ‘n Cheer (10a-2p, call 419-243-6675 for reservations) and Maumee Bay Brewing Company (10a-3p, call 419-243-1302 for reservations). Focaccia’s will have a DJ at brunch on Sunday, May 14, from 11a-2:30p. Can’t celebrate on actual Mother’s Day? If brunch isn’t her thing, there are plenty of fun things to do with her! Enjoy a Maumee River cruise with J&M Cruise Lines, best of all, all mothers and grandmothers are free with the purchase of another ticket. The cruise departs at 11a, tickets can be purchased here. Want to make something? The following workshops are being offered: Stained Glass Art Class at Maumee Bay Brewing Company (Saturday, May 13 from 11a-3p; tickets can be purchased here) and Mother’s Day Cocktail Tasting and Workshop at Toledo Spirits Company (Sunday, May 14 from 4:30-6p; tickets can be purchased here). Exploring downtown is always a fun way to spend the day. Check out all the great work Metroparks Toledo has done in Middlegrounds Metropark and the brand-new Glass City Metropark. If you’d rather spend some time indoors, wandering around the Toledo Museum of Art is always a win.

Not sure what to gift your mom? Handmade Toledo is hosting their Spring Maker’s Mart on Saturday, May 13 from 11a-7p and will feature local artists and makers. Local artists’ work can also be purchased at the Art on Market Shoppes. While you’re browsing their gallery, be sure to check out the Toledo Farmers’ Market and the Libbey Glass Outlet. Hand-blown glass products can be purchased from Gathered Glassblowing Studios. Is she a yogi? Purchase a pack of classes from the newest yoga studio, Downtown Yoga 419. Pick up some stylish outerwear or outdoor gear from Ridge & River, or shop sustainably with plastic-free products from Just Toledo. Give the gift of pampering when you purchase a gift card from one of downtown’s salons and spas (Ahava Spa and Wellness Center, Bella Rose Beauty, Fiber & Strand, Massage Bliss, OUCH!
