Spend Winter Break in Downtown Toledo

Imagination Station

Just because school is out doesn’t mean learning has to stop! Bring the kiddos down to Imagination Station to get a hands-on approach to science. Check out some short films on the MASSIVE screen at the KeyBank Discovery Theater.

Notable events

Mighty Ducks – Catch The Mighty Ducks at the KeyBank Discovery Theater on Monday, December 27 at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10. Buy here.

Bouncy Ball Drop – What’s more fun than a New Years ball drop? A bouncy ball drop! Be there when 22,000 bouncy balls are dropped to ring in the new year. Registration is required. Bouncy Ball Drop is December 30 at 2:22pm and the Ballplosions are at 2:44pm. Details and registration here.

 

Main Library

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library's Main Branch is a world of wonder! Bring the whole family to marvel over the architecture, state of the art services and totally awesome kid's section. The kids will spend hours exploring and learning new things. The library is free and open to the public.

 

Toledo Museum of Art

Bring the whole family to the Toledo Museum of Art. The famous Toledo institution is home to a world-renowned collection and currently is featuring an exhibit called The Age of Armor: Treasures from the Higgins Armory Collection at the Worcester Art Museum. Additionally, check out a demonstration in the Glass Studio.

The Great Art Escape – Enjoy a diverse array of events and programming during the Great Art Escape. The event is free and open to the public from December 29 – January 2. Check out the full schedule of events here.

 

Toledo Walleye Winterfest

Catch some T-Town hockey action on Fifth Third Field. Yup, you read that correctly. There’s an ice rink in the middle of a baseball diamond. Winterfest is a two-week-long event that includes two Walleye hockey games, college hockey games, youth hockey games, open skates and more.

Notable events

Walleye Games – The Toledo Walleye will play two outdoor games during Winterfest. One game against the Kalamazoo Wings on December 26 and one game against the Indy Fuel on December 31. Get your tickets here.

Toledo Hockey Alumni Games – See Toledo hockey legends take to the ice to play against some former Red Wings players on December 30. See rosters and get tickets here.

Hockey Hall of Fame Induction – Be there when this year’s class of Toledo Hockey Hall of Fame gets inducted. The ceremony will take place on December 29 and the KeyBank Discovery Theater at the Imagination Station. Get tickets here.
