Rebuilt from the studs for superior quality, completely rebranded and situated right in the heart of our city, The Renaissance Toledo town Hotel is opening in May 2017. It will be a chic and majestic hotel infused with local Toledo themes and featuring views of the Maumee River from the rooftop bar. The interior design will include glass culture, largely in the lobby area, and other elements of the city’s history. As a 12-story hotel, The Renaissance Toledo will have 241 modern guest rooms along with a grand ballroom, fitness center and board rooms. It will also feature a three meal restaurant and the Renaissance signature “R” Lounge on the main floor. The restaurant and bar are for the people of Toledo to fully utilize, not just hotel guests.
The new Marriott hotel, purchased by First Hospitality from Toledo Riverfront LLC for $8.12 million, will incorporate Toledo’s relationship with Jeep and the auto industry, our setting on the Maumee River and our status as home of Corporal Max Klinger, a character on the M*A*S*H television series, played by Toledo native Jamie Farr. The entire renovation is slated to cost $25 million.
Small details such as skylights with glass elements, and pillows with the Toledo
Walleye logo printed on them string an eclectic and well-thought out Toledo motif throughout the entire hotel. An underground Pedway means it’s an easy stroll to nearby buildings, including the Imagination Station. On the 12th floor, The Renaissance Downtown Toledo will house a public bar/lounge that will serve cocktails and plate foods from a wood-fired pizza oven. The area has access to open-air terraces and 360-views of the city.
The hotel is already booking into 2017 and beyond. If you or your business have any meeting, event needs or if you’d like to schedule a hard-hat tour of the property please contact Haley Gronemeier Directly at Hgronemeier@fhginc.com or 419.509.2266.
