UT BAND TO STOP AT THREE LOCATIONS FRIDAY BETWEEN 9:00 AND 10:00 P.M.
The University of Toledo Rockets Marching Band goes on the road today as it makes brief stops at three Downtown Toledo establishments to get fans excited about the Rockets’ game against Iowa State on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight, the band will make three stops to get fans excited about Saturday’s game, playing several songs and talking with fans. The schedule is (approximately):
- Durty Bird Restaurant, 2 S. St. Clair St. – 9:00 to 9:10 p.m.
- Ye Olde Cock N Bull, 9 N. Huron St. – 9:20 to 9:30 p.m.
- The Blarney Irish Pub, 601 Monroe St. – 9:40 to 9:50 p.m.
The band will walk from location to location, and they’re encouraging fans to tag along.
“This is a great opportunity to introduce UT students to downtown’s most spirited restaurants,” explained Cindy Kerr, executive director of the Downtown Toledo Improvement District. “At the same time, it will build excitement for the Rockets’ next game against a power conference (the Big 12), especially after their win last weekend against Arkansas, a Southeastern Conference team.”
The Toledo Rockets take on the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Glass Bowl. The 8:00 p.m. game will be broadcast on ESPNews.
“We’re really looking forward to Friday’s pop up pep rallies, and hope this can become a tradition in Downtown Toledo,” Kerr said. “Thanks to Ed Beczynski of The Blarney and Jeff Kimble from Communica, for planning and coordinating this great event.”
