When The Loop and 419 Day Collide

April 19th, or 419 Day, is always a celebration in downtown Toledo.  Our various venues demonstrate their love for our beloved area code and all things Toledo and northwest Ohio.  The third Thursday in April is also the start of The Loop, or our art walk, sponsored by the Arts Commission.  When both happen on the same day, we have a downtown holiday.  Here are the highlights of the day’s activities:

 

Uptown District:

  1. Mini-Mart Artist Market at Handmade Toledo includes local goods, art, live music, cocktails and food trucks, 11am – 9pm
  2. Ode to the Zip Code at the Main Branch Library has creative writings and short poems, 5:30 - 7:30pm
  3. Village on Adams Scavenger Hunt – follow the clues on their Instagram accounts, 6pm – 9pm
  4. Market on the Green Beer Sampling, 6pm – 8pm
  5. House of Dow has shopping and live music, 7pm – 9pm
  6. Jupmode has more 419 clothing products than anyone, 11am – 9pm
  7. After party at The Attic, 9pm – 2am

 

Central District:

  1. Imagination Station is having fun with Spin Art and Pop Art with bubbles, 5pm – 8pm
  2. HeArt Gallery features DIY art and music by Scott Biddle plus Sips and Dips served, 5pm – 8pm
  3. Boochy Mama’s for a taste of the Spring Lineup of Kombucha flavors, 5pm – 9pm
  4. Evenings at the Renaissance featuring local artists and get involved with a live painting created by Matt Taylor, 5pm – 9pm
  5. Self-Guided Studio & Gallery Tour at various stops such as Toledo School for the Arts, Ottawa Street Studios, Truth Gallery and Jack Wilson’s Sculpture, 5:30pm – 9pm
  6. 419 Day at The Pub with Toledo Artists Julie Draeger and Kay Weprin and music by Box of Sol, 6pm – 9pm

 

Warehouse District:

  1. Gathered Arts Hot Glass, Cold Beer, Cool Music with live demos, beer and music, 5:30 – 9pm
  2. Lululemon at Toledo Asana Room for free yoga and celebration of all things 419, 6pm – 9pm
  3. Bridal open house at Great Lakes Event Center with food, wine and music, 5pm - 8pm

 

Art Museum:

  1. Toledo Museum of Art and their fun lecture on Ancient Egyptian Mummies, 6pm – 7pm
